Williamsburg Delft tobacco jars are based on an 18th-century original in the collection at Colonial Williamsburg. The antique jar, which bears the name “Carolina”, was reproduced with the same inscription, and adapted with the names of states known to have grown or exported tobacco in the 18th century. This is why Delft state jars are available in the names of some states and not others. The reproductions are hard to find and highly collectible.
